Please note that GQHPA reviews and updates this policy from time to time as needed without notice. The term “GQHPA” refers to the Gatton Quarter Horse & Performance Association.
The term “AQHA” refers to the Australian Quarter Horse Association.

Supervision All youth competing or taking part in an AQHA approved event, must have written permission from their parent/guardian to be at that event as a contestant or participant and in the case of a contest, the parent/guardian must also sign the entry form.
All youth competing or taking part in an AQHA approved event by GQHPA must be in the care of a responsible adult who is in attendance for the duration of that event, whilst the youth is in attendance at that event.
When you transact online with us, GQHPA requires you to provide certain details so that we can provide you with the product or service. This includes details such as contact and identification information such as your name, postal and email addresses, telephone number(s), date of birth, gender, licence or passport number and car registration; banking and/or other details for payment including bank account and credit card details; insurance details; business details such as your ABN; AQHA or breed membership details, horse ownership and registration details; employment information such as employment history and qualifications; •sensitive information including information about your health, medical conditions or ethnic/racial origin. GQHPA requires this information to help us process and manage your account and nomination details for future purposes.
GQHPA may also use its database, including information provided by you through our website or nomination forms, to distribute information about other services and other organisations’ services to you. GQHPA may periodically send information, offers or other information to GQHPA members. GQHPA may also disclose to its business associates certain customer information for use in marketing goods and services to our customers.
The personal information collected from you at this site and on our nomination forms is or may be used:
* providing you, and our members generally, with our products and services; * accommodating your health needs, responding to emergency situations and facilitating the administering of medical care; * assessing whether to engage you as a volunteer or assistant in any other capacity; * accounting, billing, insurance and other internal administrative purposes; and * any other legal requirements (including but not limited to laws relating to education, child protection, health and safety, charitable collections and medical treatment).

If at any time you no longer wish to receive email or postal communications from GQHPA or from third parties, you can contact GQHPA Secretary and make a “no contact” request.
Information collected on our website or nomination forms may also be combined to provide AQHA with anonymous demographic and usage information. AQHA can then use this aggregated information to develop new and/or more appropriate services and products to offer to customers and may also be provided to third parties.
Other than as described, GQHPA will not make an attempt to identify users or their browsing activities. However, in the unlikely event of an investigation, a law enforcement agency or other government agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect our Internet Service Provider’s logs.

The GQHPA take great care of the security of your personal information. We make sure the information is protected from misuse, interference and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Personal information is held both in hard copy and electronically in secure databases and in secure premises. All information is only accessible by authorised volunteers and executive committee members. Personal information no longer required will be destroyed accordingly, unless we are required or authorised by law to retain the information.
We take steps reasonable in the circumstances to ensure personal information we hold is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant and not misleading. Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to access and seek correction of your personal information that is collected and held by us.
